VELVE BIO

VELVE lent her voice to the very first AI-generated speech applications in German Speaking Countries and thus became famous overnight. The work of the trained jazz singer exists at the intersection of club culture, art-pop and media art performance. On her recent album ANALOG she explores the effects of AI on human emotions and social interaction, immortalizing both her scrutinizing smartphone voice and her touching singing voice. The award winning singer, audio producer and video artist intentionally created ANALOG without any digital element and received excellent reviews from renowned magazines Electronic Groove, Mixmag, Faze Mag, Metal etc. for her minimal techno sound. Her recent live-set comes with audioreactive visuals shimmering in the iridescent hues of rare earth elements, for without them, AI would not exist.

In 2024 her single IMMERSION and in 2025 her single DIGITIZE were ranked among Beatport’s Best New Electronica. In 2026 TEMPER OF MAN was released with Belgian label Crossfade Sounds.

VELVE received the Make Art Not Fear Award in 2021 and ten international nominations for the video art accompanying her music. Her previous AV performance X TO THE MILLION traced utopian visions unfolding from mathematical sequences anchored in the placeholder X—within the video work, the X morphs into shifting 3D forms, interwoven with ghostly footage of abandoned human settlements, and was performed live in Oslo at the Øyafestivalen as well as at the Bauhaus Museum and the Urban Nation Museum in Berlin.

In 2017 she released her beautifully cinematic Ambient album “The Bodiless Series”, and her music was licensed for Fashion Week Vienna. In 2016 VELVE was signed with British American publishing company Wise Music and received a platinum award for her collaboration with Deichkind. Her debut album NOVELETTES OF LOVE was likewise met with outstanding acclaim from the specialist press.

METAL MAGAZINE: “Renowned singer, composer, music producer and video artist Velve has recently released Navigation, a new single off her upcoming album Analog (…). Produced exclusively with two analogue synthesizers and her voice, the Berlin-based artist's new work is a wake-up call to the threat that Al poses on creativity and the standardisation of art.”

SIX A.M. LOS ANGELES: “Iconic and political - Velve’s unmistakable voice imparts a top-class finish to ANALOG’s fat sounds. The tempo is up, the performance outrageous.”

FAZE MAG: “Two analogue synthesizers and the renunciation of any digital element help Velve to create a new and clear signature sound on her album, which seems to vibrate directly from the heavy concrete clubs of the capital (Berlin).”

ELECTRONIC GROOVE: “A collection of powerful 4/4 kicks and stylish oscillator emulations that seamlessly blend with intricate percussive and ambient structures.”

MUSIKWOCHE: “Warm and powerful voice, poetic talent, keen sense of cinematic compositions and an internationally respectable avantgarde sound.”
